Darja Zaharova has been a featured artist at the Stanislavski and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Music Theatre since 2013. Ms. Zaharova completed her Bachelor in Vocal Performance at the Russian University of Theatre Arts (GITIS), faculty of Opera Performance in 2015. Trained with Ludmila Magomedova.
Roles performed during her studies included Carolina in «Il matrimonio segreto» by D. Cimarosa, Amore in «Orfeo ed Euridice» by C. Gluck, First Child Spirit in «Die Zauberflöte» by W.A. Mozart. In 2016, she has been invited to perform the title role in the premiere production of a contemporary opera by Elena Sedeleva – «Mirra». Opera was presented at the III International Chamber Opera Festival in Moscow, Russia. In Summer 2016, Darja has received a full scholarship to participate in the Land of Enchantment Opera Institute as a Young Artist, and covered the role of Despina in a full staged production of «Cosi fan tutte» by W.A. Mozart.
Future engagements include the role of Brigitta in the production of «Iolanta» by P.I. Tchaikovsky in summer 2017, and the role of Donna Elvira in the production of «Don Giovanni» by W.A. Mozart in fall 2017.
